Osimhen, Adams fire Nigeria into AFCON semi-finals with Algeria victory
Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams were both on the scoresheet as Nigeria national football team booked their place in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with a composed win over Algeria national football team in Marrakech, Sport360NG reports.
The Super Eagles controlled proceedings from the outset and should have taken the lead before the interval, but Adams dragged a promising effort just over the crossbar eight minutes before half-time.

Nigeria made their dominance count shortly after the restart. Just 85 seconds into the second half, Victor Osimhen rose to meet a deep delivery from Bruno Onyemaechi, steering a well-placed header back across goal to claim his fourth strike of the tournament.
The lead was doubled 10 minutes later as Akor Adams finished confidently after being released by Osimhen, rounding goalkeeper Luca Zidane following a slick passing move from the West Africans.
Adams came close to adding a third late on but saw his header from another Osimhen cross rebound off the left-hand post with nine minutes remaining.
Nigeria, runners-up at the previous edition, will now take on hosts Morocco national football team in Wednesday’s semi-final in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 GMT.
