Arsenal’s path to the premier league title explained with eight games left

Arsenal have strengthened their grip on the Premier League title race after securing victory over Brighton & Hove Albion while reigning champions Manchester City dropped points in a draw with Nottingham Forest, Sport360NG reports.

The results leave Mikel Arteta’s side in a favourable position with eight matches remaining in the campaign, although City still hold a game in hand.

Despite that advantage for the defending champions, Arsenal remain firmly in control of their destiny. If the Gunners win all their remaining fixtures, they will secure the Premier League crown regardless of Manchester City’s results.

A key moment in the title race is expected to come in April when Arsenal travel to the Etihad Stadium to face City in what could prove to be the decisive encounter of the season.

Should Arsenal claim victory in Manchester, they would require only 15 points from their other seven matches to clinch the title, assuming City win the rest of their games.

However, a draw at the Etihad would mean the North London club must collect at least 18 points from their remaining fixtures to stay ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side.

A defeat, on the other hand, would significantly increase the pressure on Arteta’s team, potentially leaving them needing to win all their other league games to maintain their lead in the standings.

Arsenal may also benefit from their schedule during the closing weeks of the campaign. The Gunners are set to play most of their remaining league fixtures in London, with the trip to Manchester likely to represent their most challenging away test.

Both teams could also face additional strain due to commitments in other competitions. Champions League matches and domestic cup fixtures are expected to stretch squad depth as the season approaches its climax.

The race could also be influenced by the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, where Arsenal and Manchester City may meet in another high-pressure clash. Victory in that contest could provide a significant psychological boost ahead of the final stretch of the title battle.

As the campaign moves into its decisive phase, Arsenal’s ability to remain consistent while managing a demanding schedule could determine whether they lift their first Premier League title since the historic 2003–04 season.
