Fulham move closer to £28.5m Pepi signing as PSV striker undergoes medical

Fulham are on the verge of completing a £28.5 million deal for PSV Eindhoven forward Ricardo Pepi, with the United States international already in London to undergo a medical, Sport360NG reports.

The Premier League side had previously made an attempt to sign the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, but PSV opted to retain the striker due to difficulties in securing a replacement at the time.

However, Fulham have now revived their interest and are close to finalising the transfer, with Pepi expected to commit to a long-term contract running until 2031 at Craven Cottage.

The move is set to be completed in the summer, as Fulham prepare for changes in their attacking options, with Raul Jimenez’s contract due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

PSV, meanwhile, will benefit from the extended summer transfer window to identify and recruit a suitable replacement ahead of the new season.

Pepi is anticipated to formally complete the switch after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he is expected to play a key role for the United States, co-hosts of the tournament alongside Canada and Mexico.

The forward began his professional career in Texas before joining Bundesliga side Augsburg in 2022. He was subsequently loaned to FC Groningen in the Netherlands, where his performances earned him a permanent move to PSV, one of the Eredivisie’s traditional powerhouses.

This season, Pepi has registered 13 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions, including three goals in five UEFA Champions League outings.

Fulham currently sit 11th in the Premier League standings as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
