Manchester City Sign Record-Breaking £1bn Kit Deal Extension with Puma

Manchester City have renewed their kit partnership with Puma in a blockbuster agreement that will run for at least another decade, with the deal valued at a minimum of £1 billion, the most lucrative kit contract in Premier League history.

Originally signed in 2019 at £65 million per year, the updated deal now guarantees the reigning English champions £100 million annually until at least 2035. The new terms eclipse Manchester United’s £90 million-a-year contract with Adidas signed in 2023, and also outpace Liverpool’s reported £60 million-a-season arrangement with the same supplier.

Since linking up with Puma, City have experienced a golden era, securing four Premier League titles and completing a historic Treble two seasons ago. While they ended the most recent campaign without silverware, their global reach and commercial appeal have continued to grow.

According to the club, the collaboration has yielded record kit sales worldwide.

In their latest financial report covering the period up to June 30, 2024, City posted a Premier League record revenue of £715 million. Commercial income also rose, climbing from £341.4 million to £344.7 million.

Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group, praised the ongoing relationship: “When we partnered with Puma, it was with a shared ambition to push boundaries. Over the last six seasons, we’ve exceeded expectations and enjoyed some truly unforgettable achievements. Puma have become an integral part of our success story, helping us connect with fans around the globe.”

Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld echoed the sentiment: “Our alliance with Manchester City has delivered outstanding results both in terms of trophies and commercial performance. It has provided the perfect platform for our performance products and brand visibility.”
