Fulham Bans Dressing Room Content as Iwobi Confirms Snapchat Clampdown
Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has confirmed that the club has enforced a new policy restricting players from sharing behind-the-scenes footage from the dressing room on social media.
In a video shared on his Snapchat account on Wednesday, the Nigerian international explained that Fulham’s media department had stepped in to halt his regular posts offering fans a glimpse into the team’s private moments.
“For those wondering why I haven’t been snapping from the changing room lately, someone in the media team said I wasn’t capturing the right kind of content. So, no more behind-the-scenes,” the 28-year-old said in the video.
Iwobi, who has cultivated a loyal following for his candid and lighthearted locker room clips, also revealed that the club warned of possible fines for any violations of the new rule.
“They said I could be fined if I keep doing it,” he added. “They’re basically trying to stop any snaps from inside the dressing room.”
The midfielder expressed regret over the decision, acknowledging that his social media content had been well received by fans who enjoyed the rare insight into the team’s atmosphere away from the pitch.
“It’s a shame, man. I know people liked seeing what my teammates are like behind the scenes, but I’ve got to respect the rules,” he said.
Since arriving at Fulham, Iwobi’s social media activity, especially his Snapchat stories, has become a standout feature of his public persona, often capturing moments of team bonding, pre-match routines, and post-game reactions.
However, Fulham’s decision to curb such posts reflects a broader trend across the Premier League, with clubs becoming more protective of what is shared from dressing rooms and training sessions. The move is likely aimed at safeguarding tactical privacy and preventing potentially sensitive content from being leaked or misinterpreted.
While fans may miss the exclusive glimpses into life inside the Fulham camp, the development highlights the fine balance players must strike between engaging supporters and adhering to club protocols.
