Tottenham seal loan move for PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani
Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signing of Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan, with the deal finalised on transfer deadline day. The move is still subject to international clearance and a work permit being granted, Sport360NG reports.
The 26-year-old French forward, who will wear the number 39 shirt, had been on the radar of several Premier League sides in recent months, including Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham, before Spurs won the race for his signature.
Kolo Muani, who previously played for Nantes and Eintracht Frankfurt, spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, where he scored eight goals in 16 Serie A appearances. Since joining PSG in 2023, he has collected two Ligue 1 winners’ medals.
On the international stage, he has made 31 appearances for France, famously scoring in the 2022 World Cup semi-final against Morocco and featuring in the final against Argentina.
Speaking to Spurs’ official website, Kolo Muani said:
“I’m really happy and proud to join such a big club. I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, the supporters, and get onto the pitch. I know what the coach expects from me, and I’ll give everything for the team, the fans and the badge.”
Head coach Thomas Frank praised the new arrival, describing him as a versatile forward entering the peak of his career:
“Randal is a proven talent at the top level, with Champions League experience and international pedigree. He can operate both centrally and out wide, giving us more options in attack. We’re excited to see what he can bring to the squad.”
Kolo Muani becomes Tottenham’s fourth senior addition of the summer, following Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Xavi Simons. Alongside Kudus and Simons, he is expected to form part of a refreshed forward line as Spurs prepare for their return to the Champions League.
The move also comes at a time of concern over Dominic Solanke’s ankle injury. Although Frank remains optimistic the England striker will return after the international break, Spurs were short of options at centre-forward in their recent defeat to Bournemouth.
While some caution remains about squad balance, Kolo Muani’s arrival gives Tottenham greater depth. Unlike Richarlison, he offers a smoother, more technical option up front. Standing at 6ft 1in, he is strong in the air, comfortable with both feet, and adept at finding space inside the box.
Though often remembered for his missed chance in extra-time of the 2022 World Cup final, his goal record across Europe, 26 in 50 for Frankfurt and 10 in 22 at Juventus, highlights the qualities Spurs hope will strengthen their attack this season.
