According to Opta, Yamal’s hat-trick, achieved at 18 years and 230 days, makes him the youngest player this century to register a first La Liga treble.

Substitute Robert Lewandowski added further gloss in stoppage time, finishing from close range after neat interplay between Pedri and Jules Kounde, sealing his 11th league goal of the campaign.

The result moves Barcelona four points clear of Real Madrid, who host Getafe on Monday, as the title race gathers momentum heading into the decisive stretch of the season.
