Fulham open talks with AC Milan over Chukwueze transfer

Fulham have initiated discussions with AC Milan regarding a potential move for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, who is no longer seen as a key part of the Italian club’s plans, Sport360NG reports.

Italian transfer specialist Nicolo Schira revealed that, after a quiet spell with no formal interest in the 26-year-old, Fulham have stepped forward to begin negotiations with Milan. Talks are reportedly ongoing, although both clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee or personal terms.

This isn’t the first time Marco Silva’s side have shown interest in Chukwueze. Fulham had made enquiries during the January transfer window, but those discussions did not progress. The London club, however, now appear intent on securing the Nigerian international this summer.

Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal for €21.1m in 2023 but has found regular playing time hard to come by at the San Siro. Over two seasons, he has struggled to cement a place in the starting XI, making only nine starts in Serie A last term out of 26 total appearances. He managed three goals and two assists in 918 minutes of league action during the 2024/25 campaign.

With Milan missing out on Champions League football and under financial pressure, the club is looking to reshape its squad, which could see fringe players like Chukwueze moved on. Club officials have reportedly informed the player’s representatives that he is available for transfer.

Despite his uncertain future, Chukwueze has featured in Milan’s pre-season friendlies, including a brief appearance in a 4-2 win over Liverpool in Hong Kong and a goal in their 9-0 rout of Perth Glory.

The Nigerian still has three years left on his contract with the Rossoneri and has tallied 14 goal involvements in 69 appearances across all competitions since arriving from La Liga.

A switch to the Premier League would offer Chukwueze a new challenge and possibly a more fitting environment for his pace-driven, direct attacking style.
