Bournemouth have completed the signing of Ben Doak from Liverpool in a transfer worth an initial £20m, rising to £25m with performance-related add-ons, Sport360NG reports.

The Scotland international has committed to a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium, becoming the Cherries’ fourth arrival of the summer window.

Doak, 19, was absent from Liverpool’s squad for their 4-2 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday, with his future already moving towards the south coast.

Speaking after the move was confirmed, the winger said:
“I’m delighted to be here. The timing feels right for me and this is a great opportunity to play regular football in the Premier League. Bournemouth’s style of play really suits me, so it was an easy decision.”

Doak earned his first Scotland cap last year and impressed during a loan spell with Middlesbrough in the Championship, where he registered three goals and seven assists in 24 appearances before injury cut his campaign short. His form had also drawn attention from Porto, Leeds and other Premier League clubs, but Bournemouth won the race for his signature.

The teenager joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 but made only 10 first-team appearances during his time at Anfield. His switch to Bournemouth is expected to provide a clearer pathway to regular top-flight minutes.

For Liverpool, the deal continues a busy summer of squad reshaping. Sales have now generated close to £200m, with major exits including Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich (£65.5m), Darwin Núñez to Al-Hilal (£46.3m) and Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen (£35m). The departure of Doak adds to the list of homegrown players sold for significant profit, offering the Reds some breathing space in Profit and Sustainability Rule (PSR) calculations.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have also been active in the market. The club sold Dango Ouattara to Brentford last week for £42.5m and previously allowed Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez to leave in deals worth a combined £150m.

Manager Andoni Iraola has already bolstered his squad with goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, left-back Adrien Truffert and centre-back Bafodé Diakité, while January recruit Eli Junior Kroupi has returned from loan at Lorient. Further additions, including a striker and another central defender, are expected before the transfer deadline on 1 September.
