John Noble has reaffirmed his ambition to return to Nigeria’s senior national team, declaring that his international career remains very much alive despite his recent absence from the squad, Sport360NG reports.
The Rivers United F.C. goalkeeper, who was included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, has not featured for the national team in recent years. However, he insists he is still available for selection and determined to earn another opportunity with the Nigeria national football team.
Addressing speculation about his international future, Noble dismissed suggestions that he had stepped away from national duty, stressing that representing Nigeria remains one of his biggest professional goals.
He admitted that he misses the experience of wearing the green and white jersey and being part of national team camps and major tournaments, describing those moments as deeply meaningful highlights of his career.
For now, the shot-stopper says his primary focus is delivering consistent performances at club level. Noble emphasised that staying fit and playing regularly for Rivers United will be key to regaining the attention of national team selectors.
He added that every match presents an opportunity to demonstrate his quality and readiness for international football, reiterating that representing Nigeria is a privilege he continues to cherish.
Noble’s renewed push for a recall comes amid stiff competition for places in the Super Eagles squad, with selectors closely assessing both home-based and foreign-based players ahead of forthcoming international fixtures.
