Raul Jimenez maintains perfect premier league penalty record as Fulham beat Nottingham forest
Fulham ended a long wait for a Premier League penalty in style as Raul Jimenez calmly converted to secure a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. The goal marked the Cottagers’ first penalty since a 2-2 draw with Ipswich in January 2025, Sport360NG reports.
Jimenez’s successful strike also extended his flawless record from the spot in the Premier League. With 11 penalties scored from 11 attempts, he now shares a perfect record with former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Touré among players who have taken 10 or more spot-kicks.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer had temporarily surpassed both, converting 12 consecutive penalties by December 2024, but his streak ended in March when he saw a penalty saved against Leicester. Jimenez is now just two successful spot-kicks away from setting the record for the most Premier League penalties scored without missing.
On his method of waiting for goalkeepers to move before taking a penalty, Jimenez explained: “It’s always what I do. I’ve trained for this my whole career. I like the pressure in these situations. I’m happy to score, and I’ve never missed in the Premier League. I want to keep it that way—more penalties will come, and I’ll be ready.”
Fulham teammate Bryan Mbeumo briefly joined the 100% club with 10 successful penalties in April, but he saw his streak ended when Brentford’s keeper saved his spot-kick a month later. Similarly, former Brentford forward Ivan Toney missed his 11th penalty in 2023 against Newcastle, preventing him from matching Touré’s record.
Historically, Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer leads in total penalties, scoring 56 from 67 attempts. Former Southampton playmaker Matt Le Tissier, meanwhile, boasts one of the competition’s highest conversion rates, netting 24 of 25 spot-kicks, with his sole miss occurring in March 1993 against Nottingham Forest’s Mark Crossley.
Other notable current players with impressive penalty records include West Ham’s Callum Wilson (16/17), Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka (12/13), and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak (11/12), according to data analysts Opta.
